week 3 exam 2 i feel we did well. hopefully! Also after I recorded this the post lady drove up to drop off packages and i was able to put ace into a sit/stay command while she got out and i went to her to grab all of my packages. and walk back to ace and and give him the heel command and walk him and the packages to the house with on leash. He is really starting to understand.
Molly is having a great time in California. She loves our grandkids!
We took Molly out this morning to give Exam 2 a try. We found an empty tennis court that was perfect!
=================================================
Here is the redo test. She did lots better but still not perfect. But she is not pulling on leash and I’m not sensing fear from her.
Hi Gals, I think we got it. Not perfect, but hopefully good enough. The wispering is just me. I have no ability to think quietly, but I didn't give her any verbal cues, so hopefully you can ignore my talking to myself. HaHa!
My apologies for the late hour!
First: My final attempt at the Week 3 Exam 2: Silence is Golden -
I have gotten to the point where I have relatively reliable 1 minute stays at 6 feet. I'm also fighting her nose consistently searching out the ground
We are still struggling massively with the 60 second stand. I am correct in assuming that this exercise is not a stand-stay, yes? And I'm not supposed to correct when introducing this (I have patchy conformance to this rule.)... My struggle is that as soon as she is up she wants to MOVE. I've tried to work from the training platform and have had a little better success, until she decided she was fine stepping off the platform and moving along on her own. Suggestions? Any are more than welcome.

Place has been going well. Earlier in the week it was what we did when she (or I) were starting to fray at the edges-- we would Place and take a breather for a few seconds. As you warned, the PVC pipe alone has probably been the most challenging. Her favorite thing to do is curl up (mostly) inside the square. This is okay, right? As long as her paws are (mostly) inside the square I have been allowing it.

You'all are going to thoroughly enjoy THIS post. So much history! So much laughter! So much learning since then.
ReplyDeleteYou'ALL have come a LONG WAY. Proud of each of you.
Enjoy this journey backwards-:) I know I enjoyed it immensely.
Trina, Week 3 EXAM # 2 is uploaded.
Roxanne
I did thoroughly enjoy all of these videos. So fun to see how far everyone and their dog has come. I loved seeing little Ruth hold her sit stay with all those birds. Pretty Cool! And Kat, I forgot how much I loved your videographer. It still makes me laugh. I loved seeing Mary work Mo before her injury. She is such a sweet little girl and worked so hard for you Mary. The grandkids are adorable to boot. Gayle, Olive is working so hard to make you happy and proud of her. Wow, you two are such a perfect team. I can't wait to see what ribbons you win in March. Jessi, you did so good working Ace. I bet you were so proud he held the sit /stay while you went and got packages from the mail lady. That is definitely impressive. And Kelli, I can't even believe how far Piper has come. It is crazy to see the difference. Looking back and seeing all the work you put in has truly paid off. And looking back and seeing little Z working brought me to tears knowing where we are at now. She had such a little spunkiness to her at that time that I had forgot about. Then I had to laugh at how slow my mechanics were. Wow, that was painful to watch. Poor Jessi and Roxanne had to deal with that week after week. But thank you for sticking with me. Anyway, enough of my rambling. Thanks everyone for letting me watch all your growth throughout this journey.
ReplyDeleteI love them! Daniel recognized Olive, and commented on what a good dog she was. :) And I can't believe how small Molly was, Mary! Such fun videos, all!
ReplyDeleteI watched my first video on 2x to get through it and almost got motion sickness. 😂
