Well it took a bit but I think we finally managed to get it complete. My biggest struggle with him on this test is as soon as I would go to put him in a stand he immediately went into a down. I instantly said "down" as it was my idea, did an EF and tried the stand again, with the same results. After three times we did more heeling then tried it again in a different area with him doing the same thing. Today again he continued to go into a down when I was putting him in a stand. I finally figured it out, when I go to pull the leash in front of him with my palm up he is thinking it is the "down" signal with palm up. Even though it is a different hand he is confused. So for the test I know I did the stand mechanics off a bit by putting the leash to the side of him before putting him into a stand. I am going to have to work this weekend to clarify the different commands (stand and down) so he is not confused. Again, one step forward two steps back. Only dog training right? And I am dreading the pop quiz. He is always trying to sneak to get Z's food😈 or anything that is out.
