HOMEWORK: INTRO to ILL, a bit of history here

6-6-18 Loretta and Madi (Min Pin) in MD

Amazing to see the difference in 11-l2 Madi after less than 12 minutes of correct LL work.  You can watch the videos and see she is trying to figure out how all of this 'new schooling' works.  Smart little dog as she does figure out where the 'Safety Zone' is and then chooses to remain in the area within 5' of Loretta's left side.

The result is Madi eventually 'signs up' for the training program by CHOOSING to remain close to Loretta.  That's exactly what we want to see happen. AND all that extra choosing and thinking by Madi is mentally tiring so she is a smidge worn out by the end of just 12 minutes of correct LL work.

Way to go on your first LL session Team Madi!

3-27-21 Jessi & Ace, Day 2 of LL

12-6-21 Gayle and Olive - no videos, just Gayle's comments
First lesson, how to use the lounge line. Learned how to hold it, walk the line and corrections. We don’t talk with the dog, don’t touch the dog. I think Olive did good. I need work on foot work.

12-7-2021  I am on the road with olive. Heading to California for a week. She is doing great riding. When we stop at rest stops I do lounge line with her. We walk back and forth three times. It is open space but making it work. She is getting to move around and that makes her happy.

12-8-21 Day three of training. It didn’t go good today. My little country pup does not like the noisy city. We tried to find a nice place to do longe line. Hard to find. Went to the track behind son’s house. It started out good. Then people started showing up to run. Then sires and dogs barking. Olive got scared and got me tangled up and almost went down. Wasn’t good on the bad knee. Roxanne what do I do when she gets scared and runs between my feet?  Thank you, Roxanne, for the advice. She isn’t the only one that doesn’t like the city.

5-12-22 Mary and Molly

Molly’s first lesson was on Sunday. We headed out on Monday to practice.

 The cool down 😊

We set out for a road trip to Oregon Tuesday morning. Our hotel in Boise had a green belt in the back. Though it was a little chilly, it was a nice area to work.

We also practiced at a beautiful park in McMinnville, Oregon.

5-6-2024 Kat and Niko

Before Lesson 1...

After Lesson 1 a MUCH more relaxed Niko.

It was a very good first lesson.
===========================================
1-8-24 Trina and Zoey & Jessi/Nova, too!

Roxanne/Ruth and then Jessi/Nova. This was Nova's 1st ever ILL lesson. First done with a puppy flat buckle collar, then done, officially, on a chain collar.

 More ILL

 Jessi coaches Trina with Zoey

 Roxanne demo's Cool Down with Ruth
================================================================================================================================================== 1-8-24 Kellie and Piper

And so it begins...

The warm up (against distractions)

 And then Kellie's turn...

And after less than 30 minutes of good Longe Line work, how is Piper?

Tired

Physically tired

Curious, but no longer willing to go towards the distraction (Nova)

A VERY relaxed dog. See how soft her eyes are?

Remember to do Cool Down after EVERY ILL or LL workout.

  2. Wow! Those were so much fun to watch. What a great idea to share everyone’s starting point. So much information between all the different dog temperaments
